Marlene Nobre: 11 years of presence, work and continuity

There are dates that can't be erased.

January 5, 2015 remains vivid in the memory of the Spirit Sheet and everyone who lived with Dr. Marlene Nobre. Eleven years ago, her departure for the Spiritual Homeland was met with surprise, emotion and, at the same time, deep gratitude for a life together marked by work, affection and a silent trust that did not require words.

The sudden absence also brought natural concerns: how to continue on so many fronts conducted with such dedication? The answer came quickly, albeit accompanied by apprehension. The commitment made was clear from the start: nothing would stop. The work would continue, faithful to the principles, projects and planning that she had helped to build over the decades.

This process required unity, shared responsibility and courage. People close to us were called in, tasks were redistributed and new strengths were revealed. Along the way, the firm and confident support of colleagues was decisive in sustaining the moment of transition and reaffirming that it would be possible to move forward.

Eleven years later, Marlene is still present in everyday life. Her memory is not limited to affective memory, but manifests itself as an ethical, spiritual and intellectual reference. In particularly challenging times, her words echo strongly, reminding us that, even in difficult times, “Jesus is at the helm”.

A Spirit Sheet continues. The entire collection of issues marking its 50-year history has been made available online, increasing access and preserving the newspaper's memory. Marlene Nobre's books have been given new editions and a new graphic design, reaffirming the relevance of her thinking and her contribution to Spiritism.

The certainty that remains is simple and profound: the work continues, sustained by inspiration, trust and your legacy. His presence continues to guide decisions, strengthen commitments and remind us every day that serving is a permanent exercise in faith, responsibility and love.
