The importance of choosing well where we put our hearts

There are teachings that transcend time and invite us to reflect on our daily choices. Among them are the lessons of Chico Xavier, whose life was an example of simplicity, love and spiritual coherence.

Chico never imposed rules or condemned anyone. His way of teaching was the silent example - and through it, we understand that there are environments that uplift us and others that take us away from inner peace.

More than physical places, he was talking about vibrational environments, spaces that we create and nurture with our thoughts and attitudes.

Environments of imbalance and addiction

Chico warned about places where disrespect for life and spiritual values becomes routine: gambling houses, bars or prostitution. It wasn't a question of moral censure, but of a call to preserve spiritual energy.

For him, the danger was not just in the place itself, but in what it awakens in us - impulses, distractions and vibrations that can distance us from serenity and balance.

Places of discord and violence

Where there is hatred and aggression, the atmosphere becomes heavy. Chico recommended that, in the face of conflict, we seek silence and prayer rather than reaction.

Avoiding these places also means avoiding emotional contamination, which is so common in times of intolerance and impatience.

Judging spaces

Environments where destructive criticism and the pleasure of pointing out flaws are cultivated become gloomy. Avoiding them is an act of respect not only for others, but for your own soul.

Unbalancing content

In modern times, Chico's recommendation extends to the media and social networks. He would certainly remind us that what we consume feeds our mind and, consequently, our spirit.

Programs, films and content that cultivate hatred or violence may seem harmless, but they slowly poison our souls.

Places where faith is ridiculed

Chico, always respectful of all beliefs, advised not to stay where faith is mocked or ridiculed

He believed that everyone should stay where they can serve, learn and radiate good.

And where would Chico recommend being?

Chico spoke more about luminous presences than absences. He encouraged people to go to places where love manifests itself - harmonious homes, spiritist centers, churches, shelters and even nature.

For him, the best place to be is where you can do good, even in silence.

True spiritual geography

In the end, Chico teaches us that the places to avoid are not just external, but the inner states we choose to nurture. Anger, envy, pride and resentment are also environments - and sometimes the most dangerous ones.

Taking care of the spaces we frequent is taking care of what lives inside us. And where love is, it will always be the best place to stay.
