When the Earth seemed to be drowning in skepticism, the missionary Chico Xavier taught us how to live the New Life for the next millennium.

When we make the effort to really look at all the events we are experiencing at this very moment, we are often overwhelmed by a feeling of fear, anguish or even hopelessness. After all, there's no way not to be shaken in the face of a real tsunami that sweeps across the planet
Here and there, we've noticed people from all walks of life, of all beliefs, who feel tired, report not having the strength to go on and strongly question the reason for such difficult days. All this spreads the feeling of incomprehension and abandonment. For them, it seems that we are left to our own devices, like children who have decided to take the car and drive off, totally ungoverned by our recklessness and childishness. So, did we get here without the support of Divine Providence? Wouldn't our Father have given us support, examples, references, so that we could go through these moments more serene, more confident? Certainly.
In the wake of time, the achievements of Our Master Jesus, the planetary governor of our planet, have been moral support stakes. Centuries ago, we could have built up our existences so that clarity, security and faith were possible in times of trial.
Of course they have. In the wake of time, the achievements of Our Master Jesus, the planetary governor of our planet, have been moral support stakes. Centuries ago, we could have built up our existences so that clarity, security and faith were possible in times of trial.
Always give thanks
In the important and so studied chapter XVIII of Genesis, “In ”The Sign of the Times“, Kardec tells us that times of tribulation enforce the Law of Progress. The Codifier tells us: ”Our globe, like everything that exists, is subject to the law of progress. It progresses, physically, through the transformation of the elements that compose it and, morally, through the purification of the incarnate and disincarnate spirits that populate it.".
We are in the midst of progress. Kardec also reveals that we can perceive some more accentuated movements, characterized by sudden changes, the so-called progressive movements. In all likelihood, we are facing one of these, which invites us to make moral progress, to reflect on our choices and our way of life, with the challenge of eliminating pride and selfishness from our planet. So we can ask ourselves: are we ready for this? Has our Father sent us the resources for such an arduous journey? Certainly yes, and we must remember that the Creator helps creatures through the creatures themselves, and from time to time rebirths missionaries on earth who are committed to the moral evolution of the planet.
When the Earth seemed to be drowning in self-created skepticism, with Science and Religion taking different paths, Jesus' promise was fulfilled, and the Doctrine of the Spirits came to light, with precise revelations about yesterday, today and tomorrow, with Christ himself as its Model and Guide. A few decades later, it was necessary for the Higher Plan to shower our planet with more light from on high, where spiritual life could be even more praised, but above all, Christian living could be recognized.
Among the countless missionaries who have returned to the bonds of flesh to inspire us, on April 2 we should celebrate the 111th anniversary of the blessed return of Francisco Cândido Xavier, who was reborn in a humble way, facing all kinds of difficulties, and with his own life exemplified to us how to live the New Life for the next millennium.

Apostle of Human Renewal
The Apostle of Human Renewal, as he was respectfully called by our teacher Paulo Rossi Severino, one of the founders of this newspaper, spared no effort and made his time on Earth a veritable compendium of examples.
We can say that as a vanguard of progress, Chico lived in his time as the man of tomorrow, the true Christian. If nowadays, when humanity suffers from the absence of values such as compassion, forgiveness and love for others, and scholars from all sides are trying to find answers for the future in attitudes of empathy and spirituality, we can find in the medium from Minas Gerais a collection of examples that reflect the conquest of such ideas.
With this, we have no doubt that, especially we, Chico Xavier's contemporaries, have been blessed by the sending of this missionary, who left us his work and his own life as solid foundations for the moral transformation to which we are all being called. It is up to us to put his teachings into practice. Long live Chico Xavier! Put more Chico in your life, and together we will overcome these moments.
Thank you, Chico! Thank you, Jesus, for never forsaking us and allowing us to quench our thirst for love in the living examples of the Christian faith.
