\u201cFor where your treasure is, there your heart will be also\u201d<\/em> (Mt 6:19-21).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is essential that we are fully aware of our objectives in this existence. No one is reborn here on Earth, in a new and timely reincarnation process, without any purpose. The goal of all creatures, with more or less maturity, will always be to find peace and happiness, goals that have not yet been achieved, but are on the way to being achieved, through the efforts we make.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wise laws of God allow us the freedom to make choices and decisions. Each of us is free to deliberate on the actions we wish to take, but we are obviously obliged to bear the consequences of each action we take. Hence, of course, the importance of choices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus warns that \u201cwhere our treasure is, there our heart will be also\u201d, informing us that our life will be linked to our desires, longings and vocations. If these are in line with balance, decency and dignity, we have nothing to fear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOnly the conquests of the Spirit pass through time and remain with us.\u201d<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, if we act indifferently or make inconsequential choices, we will most likely encounter problems and afflictions along the way. We must never forget that we are made up of two natures: the physical and the spiritual. We have unavoidable obligations towards material life and serious responsibilities towards spiritual life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even though it's difficult, the important thing for our well-being and serenity is to find a balance between the two natures. There is little point in being spiritually well while occupying a sick body, or having a healthy physical organism with an unbalanced Spirit<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We often need to reflect on the way we are conducting our days in this incarnation, with a view to getting the most out of the experiences that life offers us. Jesus, at a certain moment during his glorious passage on Earth, peremptorily stated: \u201cI have overcome the world\u201d (Jn 16:33), as if to clarify for us the real need to add definitive values, even if we are just passing through this planet, because true life is spiritual life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We must understand that we can only take real values and indestructible achievements to the spiritual realm, such as charity, fraternity, patience, detachment from material goods, love, understanding, tolerance, kindness, education, etc. So let's put our treasure in the virtues mentioned above and, along with them, our hearts will be filled with tranquillity, hope and optimism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus Christ certainly doesn't expect us to live a sanctified life, since we are still spirits on our way to perfection, but he is waiting for our efforts in the direction of spiritual prosperity, an essential condition if we are to find the peace we dream of and the happiness we eagerly seek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To do this, it is essential that we know how to choose our treasures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
