The month of March brings with it a series of important events in the history of Spiritism in Brazil and around the world. These are dates that not only record events from the past, but also help us to understand the evolution of the Doctrine, its philosophical foundations and the efforts of those who dedicated their lives to spreading Spiritist teachings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlike traditional commemorative dates, events related to Spiritism are not about paying homage, but rather about reflection and learning. Each of these milestones represents a step along the path of the Doctrine, whether through the birth and death of great personalities, the founding of important institutions or the publication of works that have contributed to the spread of Spiritist knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this article, we explore some of the main spiritist events in March, remembering names such as Allan Kardec, Gabriel Delanne, Jos\u00e9 Herculano Pires, Yvonne do Amaral Pereira, among others, who left a fundamental legacy for all those who seek to understand and live the spiritist teachings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

05\/03\/1815<\/td>Mesmer, Franz Anton, doctor and magnetizer, father of Mesmerism, dies.<\/td><\/tr>
05\/03\/1939<\/td>Foundation of the Bezerra de Menezes Spiritist Center, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), with Professor Arnaldo Claro de S. Thiago as its founder and first president.<\/td><\/tr>
06\/03\/1921<\/td>The Gr\u00eamio Esp\u00edrita Nazareno starts Evangelization for Children, organized by Vianna de Carvalho, Moreira Guimar\u00e3es and Luiz de Oliveira.<\/td><\/tr>
07\/03\/1937<\/td>Founding of the Alian\u00e7a Esp\u00edrita de Propaganda e Caridade, in S\u00e3o Paulo (SP), with Sebasti\u00e3o Moggi da Fonseca and Luiz Gomes da Silva as founders.<\/td><\/tr>

11\/03\/1951<\/td>One of the organizers of the First Congress of Spiritist Youth in Brazil, Jo\u00e3o Batista Chagas, dies in the city of Niter\u00f3i (RJ).<\/td><\/tr>
13\/03\/1919<\/td>Foundation of the Centro Esp\u00edrita Friburguense, in Nova Friburgo (RJ).<\/td><\/tr>
14\/03\/1874<\/td>English naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace became the first scientist to take a photograph of a materialized spirit.<\/td><\/tr>
16\/03\/1893<\/td>Death of the pioneer of Spiritism in Brazil, Luiz Olimpio Telles Menezes. He founded the Family Group of Spiritism and the newspaper Eco d'Al\u00e9m T\u00famulo.<\/td><\/tr>
19\/03\/1819<\/td>Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Fernandez Colavida, translator of Kardec's works into Spanish, is born. The Brazilian Spiritist Federation publishes A Barqueira do J\u00facar, one of his books.<\/td><\/tr>
19\/03\/1963<\/td>Angelo Watson Campelo, Cairbar Schutel's replacement at O Clarim, dies.<\/td><\/tr>
21\/03\/1880<\/td>Bittencourt Sampaio, Antonio Luiz Say\u00e3o, Frederico Junior, among others, founded the Fraternity Spiritist Group.<\/td><\/tr>
21\/03\/1945<\/td>Death of Frederico Augusto da Silva, one of the founders of the Spiritist Federation of Rio Grande do Sul.<\/td><\/tr>
22\/03\/1882<\/td>Allan Kardec's book Genesis was published in Portuguese for the first time.<\/td><\/tr>
23\/03\/1857<\/td>Gabriel Delanne, the scientist of the Spiritist Codification, is born. The Brazilian Spiritist Federation publishes his books: The Soul is Immortal, Spiritism before Science, Soul Evolution, The Spiritist Phenomenon, Reincarnation.<\/td><\/tr>
23\/03\/1876<\/td>Foundation of the Society of Spiritist Studies God, Christ and Charity, under the inspiration of Ishmael, Spiritual Guide of Brazil.<\/td><\/tr>
24\/03\/1881<\/td>The newspaper Uni\u00e3o e Cren\u00e7a appeared, published in Areias (SP).<\/td><\/tr>
25\/03\/1856<\/td>Allan Kardec learned through a mediumistic communication of the existence of the Spirit of Truth, the mainstay of the codification.<\/td><\/tr>
25\/03\/1939<\/td>Jos\u00e9 Petitinga (Jos\u00e9 Florentino de Sena), founder of the Spiritist Union of Bahia, dies.<\/td><\/tr>
26\/03\/1964<\/td>Antonio Lima dies. As well as translating Kardec's works, he wrote books, with FEB publishing A Caminho do Abismo, Estrada de Damasco, Senda de Espinhos, Vida de Jesus.<\/td><\/tr>
27\/03\/1896<\/td>Alvi\u00e3o appears, a spiritist newspaper published in the city of Taubat\u00e9 (SP).<\/td><\/tr>
28\/03\/1905<\/td>Francisco Klors Werneck, one of the founders of the Spiritist League of Brazil, is born.<\/td><\/tr>
30\/03\/1969<\/td>Death of Sebastian Lasneau. Blind poet, one of the creators of Spirit Week.<\/td><\/tr>
31\/03\/1869<\/td>Allan Kardec, the codifier of the Spiritist Doctrine, dies in Paris of an aneurysm.<\/td><\/tr>
31\/03\/1870<\/td>The Celtic-style funerary monument to receive Allan Kardec's remains is inaugurated in Paris at the P\u00e9re-Lachaise cemetery.<\/td><\/tr>
31\/03\/1897<\/td>Foundation of the Bookshop of the Brazilian Spiritist Federation.<\/td><\/tr>

Each of these events should not be seen as an isolated event in time, but as part of a continuous process of learning and evolution. Knowledge of the history of Spiritism allows followers to better understand its foundations and follow the development of the Doctrine over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
