The Spiritist Doctrine devotes an important part of its teachings to the relationship between incarnate and discarnate beings. Within this theme, the phenomenon of obsession - described by Allan Kardec in The Mediums' Book<\/em> - remains current and deeply connected to the spiritual needs of our time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rather than being feared figures, the so-called \u201cobsessors\u201d are suffering spirits who, through magnetic affinity, draw close to incarnate or discarnate people, influencing their thoughts, emotions and behavior. It's not a question of punishment or supernatural intervention: above all, it's a phenomenon of vibratory attunement, in which equally unbalanced minds touch each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are obsessors?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Obsessors are spirits who, trapped in sorrows, guilt, anger, attachments or addictions, find affinity with people who carry similar vibrations. According to Kardec, this influence can range from simple mental annoyances to more serious conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kardec classifies obsession into three degrees:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Simple obsession<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The performance is light. There are negative intuitions, sudden discouragement, irritability or insistent ideas. The person still retains control over themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Fascination<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The obsessing spirit creates illusions and deceptions. The person loses their critical sense and begins to accept distorted ideas, often believing that they come from the good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Subjugation (moral or physical)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the influence is so intense that it affects the person's will and autonomy. It can lead to humiliation, uncontrolled impulses and great emotional suffering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do obsessors appear?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Spiritism, nobody becomes an obsessor by nature. They are spirits who have gone through some degree of ignorance or pain. The most common causes include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- unresolved enmities from the past;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- resentments that persist after disincarnation;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- excessive attachment to people, places or habits;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- revenge, when the spirit feels victimized by someone;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- spiritual disorientation, present in spirits still attached to the sensations of the material world;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- vibrational affinity, since negative thoughts attract equivalent influence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is therefore a meeting between two sufferings, not the unilateral action of an \u201cinvisible enemy\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consequences of obsession<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The impact can be emotional, mental and even physical - not because the spirit directly causes illness, but because it intensifies existing weaknesses. Constant irritation, negative fixed ideas, a sense of oppression and deep fatigue are common signs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It's important to remember that spiritual obsession and psychological suffering can coexist, and both must be cared for responsibly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paths to liberation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spiritism offers safe, therapeutic and moralizing resources:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Psychological care complements spiritual care. We are integral beings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The obsessor is also a suffering being<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Spiritist view, there are no eternal enemies. There are companions on the journey who have lost their way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
